The main machining area was two long corridors that ran north to south in the large building.
Over the years the plant expanded from the origional HLF building with additions large and small.
In some areas the floors were heavy timbered wood, others were concrete or asphalt.
In the wood floor areas heavy metal plate runways were laid down in the isles to make it easier for forklifts to move through the plant.
Throughout the plant were fire prevention sprinkler systems that used an "air over water" process. the pipes were filled with compressed air to prevent freezing. When a sprinkler head activated, the air was released and was followed by the water.
Forethought lead to the installation of sprinkler systems under the elevated wood floors in those portions of the plant.
